Russell Seaton has been the Director of Choirs at University High School
since 2001. He serves the Titan community as Music Theory instructor and Music Director for UHS's annual staged musical.
Mr. Seaton currently serves as President for the Northeast Region of Washington Music Educator's Association, and has served on the board of
Washington's American Choral Director's Association as both Multicultural Chair and Eastern Liason. He has served as Choral Curriculum
Chair and Vice President for the NEMEA as well. Mr. Seaton is on staff as Director
for the Spokane Area Children's Chorus, where he directs Cambiata, an ensemble for young men with changed voices. Mr. Seaton is
the founding member of the Spokane Choral Artists, and elite ensemble made up of ten prostegious singers and directors from
the Inland Northwest. He is a member of the nationally known and recognized Male Ensemble Northwest (MEN), an ensemble made up of
top directors from across the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Seaton served as the Director for the 2006 Bi-County Honor Choir, the 2007 WMEA All-State Elementary
Chorus, and the 2008 Eastern Washington Youth Honor Chorus. Mr. Seaton recieved the KHQ Teacher of the Month award in 2004 for the eastern side
of the state of Washington, and was named the 2007 Northeast Music Educator of the Year. He performs regularly with Spokane Opera, Spokane Civic
Theatre, and other organizations throughout the Inland Northwest. In 2010, Mr. Seaton will have a composition debuted by
the WMEA All-State Junior High/Middle School Choir. He frequently composes for his groups and is published through Sound Music Publishing. In his
free time, Mr. Seaton enjoys spending time with his daughters and wife, Tammy Seaton, a Spokane-area voice instructor.
